Services

Initial Assessment

Your first visit will consist of a thorough history and physical exam to help determine the root cause of your complaint. Once a diagnosis has been reached, Dr. Byer will work with you to develop a treatment plan specific to your condition, goals and lifestyle. These visits typically last 1 hour.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic care involves hands on, non invasive treatment. The components of your visit are determined by your individualized treatment plan. These visits may include chiropractic adjustments, mobilizations, soft tissue therapies and/or athletic taping. Modalities such as IFC, ultrasound or low level laser therapy may also be used. Home exercises and stretches may also be prescribed. These visits typically last 15-30 minutes.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of small, single use sterile needles into different areas of the body. Functional integrated acupuncture uses a combination of anatomically determined points (based on the muscles, joints and ligaments)  and points determined based on traditional Chinese acupuncture systems. Sometimes, electrical stimulation will also be used between needle points. These visits typically last 30 minutes.

Custom Foot Orthotics

Custom orthotics are designed specifically for your foot shape and condition. A biomechanical assessment and gait analysis will be preformed to determine if you may benefit from orthotics. Orthotics may be prescribed to address an issue specifically with the feet, or in the knee, hip or low back. Most extended health plans offer some coverage for orthotics.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) uses stainless steel tools to assist in breaking up abnormal tissue densities and increase blood flow to assist in healing. This therapy can be a component of your chiropractic care.
