What is a chiropractor? What do they treat?
Chiropractors are experts in diagnosis and treatment of the neuromusculoskeletal system- conditions involving the spine, muscles, joints and nervous system.
Common conditions that chiropractors treat include low back pain, neck pain, headaches, sprains/strains, sport injuries, pain due to arthritis, pain due to pregnancy, whiplash associated disorder, plantar fasciitis and many more.
If you are unsure if what you are experiencing could be treated by a chiropractor, please contact me!
What is an adjustment?
An adjustment, or chiropractic manipulation, is one of the most frequent treatments used by chiropractors. It involves a quick, controlled movement at a specific joint. Chiropractors will use their hands to move the joint through its range of motion, and apply this controlled movement.
Although adjustments are most commonly used throughout the spine, they can also be used at other joints including wrists, ankles and feet.
Do I need a medical doctor’s referral?
Chiropractors are primary care physicians, which means that you do not need a referral from your medical doctor. We do still always appreciate referrals, and are happy to be in contact with your doctor regarding your care.
Will my insurance cover my visit?
Chiropractic care is covered by most extended health coverage plans. For details about your specific coverage, please contact your extended coverage provider.
Direct billing to insurance is not provided at this time. After your visit, you will be provided with an invoice that you can use to submit your claim.
